The single-story Crossroads Branch of the Guernsey County Library System sits in a rural setting on the east end of Cambridge, Ohio. LDA was selected to provide complete project management services for the new building, which allowed the Library Board additional flexibility during the architectural selection process. In addition to the services listed above, LDA also managed the relocation and re-use of some existing staff furniture and provided project coordination during the collection move.

This new branch required extensive planning and evaluation of staff spaces, as all administration and technical service functions were relocated from the Main Library to the new branch. A covered bookmobile area, including a bookmobile staff office and a compact shelving system to house the bookmobile collection, was included in the staff space.

The public spaces were designed using a distinctive style and color palette to distinguish the adult, teen and children’s areas. The teen area is accented with a glass wall and computer bar for Internet use. The children’s area contains a two-part story time/craft room and a customer service desk. A full-service meeting room, with a raised stage and multi-purpose seating, was included for public use.
