In 2006, LDA was selected to provide project management services for the Park Branch library addition, which included a comprehensive reorganization of the existing space. LDA was quite familiar with the facility, having played an integral part in the planning and furnishing of the original library in 1994.

The newly reorganized space focuses on a bookstore-style concept, with heavy emphasis on merchandising and collection identification. Our custom signage package provides identification to the many special areas in the branch, including “Remarkable Reads,” “Teen Zone” and “New Books.”

The 2006 addition provided space for a redesigned children’s area, which was created using a custom mural and cityscape highlighting the history of the City of Springfield. The children’s room signage was integrated within the mural design. The addition also consisted of the reorganization and planning of the staff workroom and planning of a new community meeting room/story hour space.
